In an interview that aired on PBS, former President Bill Clinton addressed those that are concerned about his wife’s health directly.
According to him, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is doing “just fine” and that what happened to her at the 9/11 memorial on Sunday is characteristic of what happens to her when she’s “dehydrated.”
“She’s doing fine, she was even better last night before she went to sleep… She had a good night’s sleep, she’s doing fine … She just got dehydrated yesterday.”
Many have suspected that Clinton’s departure from the event, which was later attributed to pneumonia, is actually indicative of a larger problem that she’s not sharing with the American public. However, Bill responded to questions about that, explaining:
“Well if it is, it’s a mystery to me and all of her doctors… frequently ― well not frequently, rarely ― but on more than one occasion, over the last many, many years, the same sort of thing happened to her when she got severely dehydrated.”
Bill claims that his wife had “two and a half” hectic days prior to the memorial and has been working “like a demon.” Hillary has since responded to concerns about her recent diagnosis, saying that she just didn’t “think it was a big deal.”
Hillary Clinton’s unexpected withdrawal from Sunday’s event couldn’t have come at a worse time in her campaign. As it stands, conspiracy theories have been floating around Republican circles that Clinton’s health is actually failing and that she’s unfit to be president. Clinton’s pneumonia has only served to add more fuel to a fire that continues to burn despite her efforts to put it out.
