As popular as his reality TV show was, his presidential run has not made Donald Trump the most popular person in Hollywood.
Even his Hollywood Star has felt the effects of his candidacy, including a reverse swastika spray-painted over it in January, a mute sign painted over it in June, and an L.A. artist erected a small razor-wire-topped wall around the star, a jab at the Trump border wall.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, however, someone took these statements to a whole new level.
A man dressed as a city construction worker wielding a sledgehammer and pickaxe completely destroyed the billionaire’s star. The man identified himself as Jamie Otis to Deadline. He said he was trying to extract the star in order to auction it off and raise funds for the women who have accused Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct.
The incident occurred at about 5:45 a.m. as a few bystanders stopped to watch. Police appeared at the scene at 6:15. However, Otis had already left.
Earlier this week, in a speech at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, which was billed as an important policy speech and his ‘closing argument,’ Trump spent the first half of the speech going ‘off-script’ and among other things called the now 11 women who have accused him of inappropriate sexual conduct liars and vowed to sue them after the election.
The Republican nominee has been almost universally maligned for threatening the women and also for essentially stepping on his own message once again by engaging in personal attacks.
