Here are five important facts that you need to know about the SpaceX explosion at Cape Canaveral on Thursday.

1. A SpaceX rocket exploded on Thursday at its launch pad at Cape Canaveral in Florida during a test firing. The rocket and satellite were destroyed. Here are 5 photos that you need to see.

2. SpaceX said that no one was injured in the explosion.

3. The explosion occurred at the Space Launch Complex 40. SpaceX uses this launchpad to launch rockets  that carry supplies to the International Space Station and satellites.

4. The satellite that the rocket was set to carry, Amos 6, was supposed to provide communication services “including home internet for Africa, the Middle East, and Europe for a partnership between Facebook and French satellite firm Eutelsat Communications.”

5. According to CNN Money, “The satellite was owned by Israeli company Spacecom, which contracted with SpaceX to carry it into orbit.”
