J.P. Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon Doesn't Want to Work for Donald Trump - CitizenSlant

In recent days, it has been reported that the Trump transition team is trying to recruit J.P. Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to serve as Treasury Secretary.

The news has been widely criticized, not just by Trump’s detractors, but by the company’s shareholders. The company’s share prices have been steadily dropping with the news.

According to Fortune, the CEO has formally told the Trump transition team that he has no interest in being the next treasury secretary. The publication reports that the Trump transition team approached Dimon about the job and leaked out that the CEO was likely to accept it. On Wednesday, Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo tweeted that he “will get” the treasury secretary job.

However, the banker has told the Trump team that he is declining the offer and will remain at his current position with the nation’s largest bank. Apparently, he thinks that he is not suited to serve as the nation’s top ranking economic official, according to sources.

Bartiromo now reports that with Dimon bowing out, Steve Mnuchin who served as Trump campaign’s finance chair is the only remaining candidate for the job.
