On Wednesday, Fox News host Jesse Watters announced that he would be taking a vacation from ‘The Five” following sexual remarks that he made on air about Ivanka Trump.
During his show, Watters said, “I’m going to be taking a vacation with my family, so I’m not going to be here tomorrow. I’ll be back on Monday, so don’t miss me too much.”
His “vacation” from the Fox show comes only three days into the show’s new prime-time slot.
On Tuesday night’s edition of the show, Watters made a joke about Ivanka Trump and the way that she held the microphone while talking on a women’s rights panel at the W20.
“It’s funny. The left says they really respect women and then when given an opportunity to respect a woman like that they boo and hiss … so I don’t really get what’s going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking into that microphone.”
The next morning, however, the Fox News host claimed that his comment was not intended to be sexual.
He explained, “During the break, we were commenting on Ivanka’s voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ. This was in no way a joke about anything else.”
