Corey Lewandowski: NY Times Editor Should Be Jailed - CitizenSlant

President-elect Donald Trump’s original campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and Ben Carson’s former campaign manager are launching a political consulting firm in D.C.

Lewandowski and Barry Bennett have been marketing for new clients for their venture Avenue Strategies, according to the Washington Examiner. They describe their outfit as “a full service government relations and political consulting firm.”

They will work out of a Pennsylvania Avenue office just blocks from the White House with Bennett confirming that the official launch will be this week. He said that he and Lweandowski plan to be “supportive of the Trump agenda” and offer “a little bit of everything” in terms of political consulting and government affairs services. While Bennett admitted that he would be registering as a lobbyist, he did not know whether Lewandowski ultimately will.

Lewandowski was a controversial figure in the Trump campaign famously butting heads with the Trump children and receiving massive media blowback for grabbing a female Breitbart reporter by the arm to pull her away from Trump. He was ultimately let go by Trump after that incident, although it is not clear how much it played a role in his firing.

Subsequent to his firing, he was immediately hired by CNN as a commentator despite remaining on Trump’s payroll where he remained a staunch supporter of the President-elect often grabbing headlines for his remarks.

“I will always be President-elect Trump’s biggest supporter,” Lewandowski said in a statement. “After considering multiple opportunities within the administration, I informed him and his team I think I can best help him outside the formal structure of government. I very much look forward to doing that everyday.

“It is necessary to have strong, organized outside groups who can help ensure the President-elect’s agenda is achieved. My goal is to make sure the priorities of the Trump administration become a reality.”

Similar to Lewandowski, but substantially more reserved in public, Bennett was another breakout Republican operative from the 2016 election cycle.
