Early Sunday morning, in the aftermath of the Bayou Classic — an annual college football game between Grambling University and Southern University — a shooting sent 10 victims to the hospital.

“A total of 10 victims were shot in the incident on Bourbon Street. One victim has died from his injuries tweeted the New Orleans Police Department of the incident.

Here are five crucial facts that you need to know regarding the incident:

1. The ten victims are between the ages of 20 and 37. Eight of them are male and two are females, according to the New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Michael Harrison. One of the eight male victims has died of his injuries.

2. Two men were arrested at the scene on firearms charges. On of those arrested was himself a shooting victim. The other arrest “was an unrelated individual found to be in illegal possession of a handgun at the scene,” according to a police statement.

3. Supt. Harrison said that officers responded to the scene after hearing shots at about 1:30 a.m. “This is not something that should’ve happened,” he said, noting that there were “thirty or more [police officers] in the block” as shots were heard. A video of Supt. Harrison’s interview was tweeted by the NOPD:

4. The increased police presence was because of the Bayou Classic which took place at the Mercedes Benz Superdome about two miles from the scene of the shooting. The game is known for unruliness as excited and commonly inebriated fans disperse in the city — particularly the French Quarter — afterwards.

5. New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu — the brother of former Senator Mary Landrieu — tweeted, “Tonight’s shooting was unacceptable. Police and EMS were on scene and responded fast. We will pursue this investigation aggressively.”

Reporter Caresse Jackman of WWLTV shot tweeted the below videos which she took as events were transpiring:
