It seems that Rachel Dolezal has not let her racial outing keep her from working in black communities and black centered causes.

The former NAACP Spokane chapter president recently teamed up with Isis Brantley, founder of NaturallyIsis, to celebrate natural hair.

This labor day weekend Dolezal will attend the 6th annual Naturally Isis Braid On, Economic Liberty March and Rally in Dallas.

Her inclusion in the event was announced in August, sparking public ridicule. Brantley responded to the outcry by telling the Cut,

“She is a supporter. I wanted people who are passionate. She’s passionate. I wanted people who were advocates, who were activists. She is a fighter for justice.”

Brantley said she was not expecting the “bad energy,” her partnership with Dolezal would cause, but maintains,

“I wanted people who are passionate. She’s passionate. I wanted people who were advocates, who were activists. She is a fighter for justice.”

As she did before, Dolezal took to Twitter to respond to the outcry and clarify inaccurate reporting by the deadline, asking followers to “put ur energy into getting involved.”
