On Fox News Sunday, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus claimed that former President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law is “imploding and exploding,” despite evidence to the contrary.
Host Chris Wallce noted during his interview with the Chief of Staff that U.S. President Donald Trump recently blamed Democrats for the failure of so-called ‘Trumpcare.’
Wallace then explained, “the president never reached out to Democrats… You never offered Democrats a compromise. So, how can you blame Democrats for this?”
Priebus then responded,
“Well, look, Obamacare is imploding and it is exploding and every other adjective you can provide. It’s going south. And it would be nice to get some Democrats on board.”
He then continued, “but you’re right,” Trump’s chief of staff admitted. “At the end of the day, I believe that it’s time for the [Republican Party] to start governing.”
The Congressional Budget Office recently found that the health insurance “market would probably be stable in most areas under either current law or the legislation” offered by the GOP.
