On Wednesday night, Congresswoman Maxine Waters spoke out against Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and President Donald Trump should go to jail for alleged sexual harassment.
During her appearance on MSNBC’s “All in with Chris Hayes,” Waters bluntly said that O’Reilly should be arrested for the alleged sexual harassment against coworkers. The congresswoman also explained her overarching distrust for the Trump administration’s approach to foreign policy.
“They need to go to jail,” Waters said, clearly referencing the president and also those involved that perpetuated what she terms a “sexual harassment enterprise” at Fox News, continuing, “Bill O’Reilly needs to go to jail.” Waters was also swift in speaking out against Trump’s defense of O’Reilly, which she claims was problematic in light of the president’s own sexual harassment controversy during his campaign.
“It’s coming out of the mouth of someone who has said some terrible things about women. Don’t forget he talked about grabbing women in the private parts and because he was important he could get away with it.”
Later adding, “They are two of a kind. I’m not surprised.”
Referencing the dozens of advertisers that have since publicly stated that they will not purchase spots during O’Reilly’s show “The O’Reilly Factor,” Waters explained, “it’s all catching up with Bill O’Reilly and that sexual harassment enterprise at Fox [News].”
She also told host Chris Hayes that she is concerned about what Trump might be telling foreign leaders, in addition to his complete lack of knowledge in regards to foreign affairs, saying, “I don’t really want him speaking for the United States.”
