Republican Woman Quits Party in Stunning Tweet Storm about Party Sexism - Citizen Slant

To those who do not know Marybeth Glenn, she is a Republican Party activist from Wisconsin, and she has finally had enough of Republican leaders who have not disavowed Republican nominee Donald Trump.

In a 17 part Twitterstorm she expressed her sheer disbelief at Republican lawmakers and leaders who still continue to endorse and support the Party’s nominee even after an ‘Access Hollywood’ recording was leaked where Trump speaks in extremely vulgar terms about women and admits to what amounts to sexual assault.

Not only did Marybeth slam her party leaders, but she also quit the Party. She said on CNN that she is going to be voting for the Independent candidate Evan McMullin.

Glenn started by saying:

“So let me get this straight: I, a conservative female, have spent years defending the Republican Party against claims of sexism.”

“When I saw Republican men getting attacked I stood up for them. I came to their defense. I fought on their behalf.”

Marybeth goes on to call Trump a “Trojan horse nationalist sexual predator” who has invaded the Republican Party, and calls the party leaders “cowards” for letting it happen.

She then calls them out and says something that may be lost on a lot of leaders and frankly, the electorate:

“We don’t need you to stand up for us, YOU needed to stand up for us for YOU. For YOUR dignity. For YOUR reputation.”

Marybeth calls out all of those who either try to call Trump’s comments something less than assault or who condemn his comments, but continue to say that they are voting for him.

Glenn expresses her complete frustration with a party that does not have any interest in addressing sexism within its ranks.

“I’m sooo done. If you can’t stand up for women & unendorse this piece of human garbage, you deserve every charge of sexism thrown at you.”

She points out what is already happening to the Republican Party, something of which it is fully aware, but will not do anything about:

“But one by one you’ll watch more women like me go, & you’ll watch men of ACTUAL character follow us out the door. And what you’ll be left with are the corrupt masses that foam at the mouth every time you step outside the lines. Men who truly see women as lesser beings, & women without self-respect. & your ‘guiding faith’ & ‘principles’ will be attached to them as well.

And when it’s all said and done, all you’ll have left is the party The Left always accused you of being. Scum.”

Donald Trump has been a catalyst for what would have happened in the Republican Party even without him. The day of reckoning is here. How Republican leaders respond will determine what will be left of the Party after the election.
