Reporters that were at the White House on Monday claim to have overheard yelling between White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, and Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders after news broke that U.S. President Donald Trump discussed classified information with Russia.

During the yelling, staffers reportedly turned up the volume on TV’s to drown out the noise.

As BuzzFeed’s Adrian Carrasquillo stated, the officials walked into the White House’s Cabinet Room not long after news broke that Trump had revealed classified information to the Russians in a closed-door meeting.

Shortly after their meeting, Sanders told the press that the White House would not comment further. The administration has vehemently denied the Washington Post report which detailed the revelations. In an emergency press conference on Monday, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster insisted that, “The story that came out tonight as reported, is false.”

However, since then, Trump has defended his disclosure of information to the Russians, saying that he had the “absolute right” to do so — claiming that he divulged the information in the interest of persuading Moscow to step up it’s fight against the Islamic State.
