Trump Lashes Out at Tax March Protesters after Doing ‘What Was an Almost Impossible Thing’

President Trump on Sunday lashed out against Tax March protesters who had gathered a day before in order to demand that he release his tax returns. Trump once again seemed to point to a mandate which he does not have.

The President continued to point to his Electoral College victory as a mandate which allows him to continue to withhold his tax returns, among a number of other things. “I did what was an almost an impossible thing to do for a Republican-easily won the Electoral College! Now Tax Returns are brought up again?”

Trump continues to ignore that not only was his Electoral College victory one of the closest margins of any presidential election in the past century, but he also lost the U.S. popular vote by a historical margin — far more than any other Electoral College winner.

On Saturday, tens of thousands of protesters marched in cities across the country, blasting Trump for continuing to refuse to release his tax returns, fueling speculation that he has secrets that he needs to keep hidden, including potentially being beholden to the Russian governor or investors (which would all but be an arm of the government).

He followed his initial tweet with another false claim both implying that protesters were paid, and that the crowds were small.
