Donald Trump Has Twitter Fit After Officials Agree to Recount Votes

President-elect Donald Trump is clearly not happy with the Green Party’s recount effort, particularly since Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said that she will join in the campaign.

Since Jill Stein’s party announced that it had raised enough for its effort and had filed for a recount in Wisconsin before its Friday afternoon deadline — the beginning of a three state Rust Belt recount campaign — Trump has been tweeting relentlessly on his feelings about the matter.

Starting Saturday afternoon, the businessman turned politician ripped into the Green Party calling their recount campaign a “scam to fill up their coffers by asking for impossible recounts,” and slamming the Democrats by calling them “the badly defeated & demoralized Dems.”

A few hours later, the matter found itself under Trump’s skin again as he took to his favorite form of communication:

“The Democrats, when they incorrectly thought they were going to win, asked that the election night tabulation be accepted. Not so anymore!”

And after a night of sleep, the President-elect again found himself beside himself on the subject. Fresh and energized, he went on what can only be described as a Twitter fit.

Trump continued his almost child-like fit as the day wore on, continuing into Sunday afternoon, first claiming — incorrectly by any measure — that he won the Electoral College vote “in a landslide.”

He then took on the fact that he lost the popular vote, though it ultimately makes no difference to him winning the presidency, claiming that he would have won the popular vote had he campaigned in some states — like California — which he had no chance of winning regardless of how much he campaigned, and also claiming that there was voter fraud in those states.

Apparently, the President-elect was not satisfied with the manner in which his campaign team ripped into Clinton and the Green Party. In a statement released prior to Trump’s initial tweet, the campaign released a statement calling the recount “ridiculous.”

The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, ‘We must accept this result and then look to the future …

This is a scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded, and the results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jilly Stein is doing.”
