Hours after actress Meryl Streep publicly denounced President-elect Donald Trump, Mr. Trump took to Twitter to respond. Twitter users certainly saw this coming.

Purely based off of Trump’s past responses to criticism, Twitter users were able to predict that he would respond to Streep’s comments on Twitter in an early morning tweet storm.

However, to take it a step further, many took a stab at guessing what he’d tweet in his message about the actress.

As was expected, users awoke to this early morning collection of tweets from the President-elect:

In a brief phone interview with the New York Times, the President-elect also referred to Meryl Streep as a “Hillary lover.”

During her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, Meryl Streep commented on Mr. Trump’s treatment of a disabled reporter, saying:

“This instinct to humiliate when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life.”
Although her speech did not directly name Mr. Trump, it was clear exactly who Streep was referring to. The actress used virtually all of the time allocated for her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award to criticize the President-elect’s behavior and policies, while also calling for others to stand in support of a free press.
