“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert slammed White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer for his Tuesday afternoon press conference, saying he is the “M.C. Esher of Bullsh*t.”

The White House Press Secretary was tasked with having to explain the way in which the resignation of now-former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn came to be. Furthermore, he dodged questions regarding exactly when U.S. President Donald Trump knew there was a serious issue with Flynn’s relations with Russia.

Colbert began by saying, “now, today, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer ‘spicesplained’ why the president was forced to let Flynn go,” and later showed a clip of Spicer’s timeline of what happened, including the fact that Spicer claimed it “wasn’t a legal issue, it was a trust issue.”

“Yes, it makes perfect sense,” Colbert said. “It wasn’t a legal issue, it was a ‘trust’ issue. Trump stopped trusting Flynn, because Flynn did something that was so darn legal that Trump had to ask for his resignation.”

“Say what you will about Sean Spicer, but he’s the M.C.. Escher of  bullsh*t.”
