Certain attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC were seen waving small Russian flags with the word “Trump” written on the front.
Apparently, the issue stemmed from some attendees took out pro-Trump flags to wave during the President’s speech at the conference which also happened to be emblazoned with the Russian white-blue-and-red colors in the pattern of the Russian flag.
At least two reporters noted that CPAC staffers quickly realized that the attendees were waving Russian flags, and mobilized to confiscate them.

The flags appeared to be part of a prank. Organizers told some attendees that anyone caught waving or holding the flags would be removed from the conference.
Trump’s ties to Russia continue to be one of the dominant stories regarding his campaign and now his presidency. Several Congressional committees are currently conducting investigations related to the ties, as are U.S. intelligence agencies, most prominently, the FBI.
All seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies have unanimously concluded that Russia interfered in the U.S. presidential elections in order to tilt the scales toward Donald Trump and against Hillary Clinton.
Last week, Trump’s then National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn, resigned in the wake of news reports that he had discussions with Russian diplomats regarding fresh sanctions that were leveled against Russia by the Obama administration.
