CNN host and staunch Trump critic Jake Tapper made an appearance on the “Daily Show with Trevor Noah” to talk about fake news, the President, and how CNN is at the forefront of it all.
The CNN host noted the way that Trump has been slow to publicly disavow both racism and anti-semitism, saying that the root of the problem was the President’s refusal to rebuke white nationalists (a group that overwhelmingly supported him) throughout his presidential campaign.
He claimed, “it’s really the easiest question in politics — will you condemn the Ku Klux Klan?”
Tapper then argued that CNN’s coverage of the president isn’t liberal “fake news,” as the President may want others to believe.
“It’s not partisan to want facts and the truth. It’s not partisan to expect decency.”
Referencing the Trump administration’s refusal to send officials and surrogates to CNN, Tapper said that they “don’t need access” to do a good job. “CNN is kicking ass!” Tapper said.
