Action movie star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says that he is calling it quits after finishing just one season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’

The former governor is also not pulling any punches about the reason for his departure from the show. It’s Donald Trump, who has repeatedly mocked the Schwarzenegger’s ratings.

“Even if asked [to do it again] I would decline,” Schwarzenegger said in an interview. “I learned a lot; I had a great time; it was a really great opportunity. But under the circumstances I don’t want to do it again.”

“With Trump being involved in the show people have a bad taste and don’t want to participate as a spectator or sponsor or in any other way support the show. It’s a very divisive period right now and I think the show got caught up in all that division.”

From the time that Schwarzenegger’s first show appeared, Trump began commenting negatively on his ratings, comparing them to those of his own.

Trump even made an awkward remark mentioning Schwarzenegger’s performance and asking for a prayer for the action star during his first appearance at the National Prayer Breakfast.

For his part, Schwarzenegger has fired back, at first with less aggressive responses.

However, more recently, his remarks have been more biting, criticizing the President at doing his job and on one occasion, offering to trade places with him so that “we can all sleep better.

The Terminator star seems to have hit a boiling point in an interview with Men’s Journal when he said that he wanted to “smash [Trump’s] face.”

“I called my assistant and said, ‘I think what we really should do is request a meeting and go back to New York,’” he said to the publication. “And then we just smash his face into the table.”

The action star added “And then I think, ‘We can’t do that, either.’ I think I have to be above all that and put him on the spot. Don’t get into a stinking contest with a skunk.”
