On Wednesday, Seth Meyers attacked U.S. President Donald Trump over what he terms ‘cruel and unnecessary’ immigration policy changes.
At one point, Meyers encouraged lawmakers to “stand up to Trump” and “take a cue from [him] and say, ‘blow me.'”
Meyers’ statements were a reference to a new memo released by the Department of Homeland Security regarding President Trump’s stance on immigration. As the memo reveals, the President plans to drastically expand the “priorities for removal” by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as well as establish a new office to assist victims of crimes committed by undocumented immigrants.
During the segment, titled “Closer Look,” Meyers spoke out in opposition of the President’s policy changes, as well as his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
