SNL’s Kate McKinnon starred as Attorney General Jeff Sessions in last night’s edition of the late night comedy show this time struggling to explain to Alex Moffat as Sen. Al Franken why Sessions met with the Russians.
Sessions greeted Franken, saying, “Always a pleasure to see you, Al,” to which Franken responded, “the pleasure is mine. This ordeal has been fun for everyone.”
The Attorney General then explained, “Al and I are actually great friends,” adding that he took the Senator whitewater rafting on the Chattahoochee River and that Franken also taught him about “Jew stuff.”
In an attempt to explain his testimony during his senate confirmation hearings, Sessions explained, “it is true that you caught old ‘Brer’ Sessions in a liar patch again.”
Franken then prompted Sessions to put his hand on the Bible before testifying. Instead, Sessions used a mannequin hand and stated, “you did not spicy my biological hand.”
The Vermont senator then asked, “Why did you deny meeting with Russian officials?”
In response, Sessions stated,
“I was all distracted. I was trying to evade these dastardly accusations of being a racist, which I’m not. Where I live, racism is simply part of the landscape.”
“And where do you live?” asked Franken.
