Iowa Republican Congressman made stunning statements on Saturday during an interview, building on President Trump’s baseless claim that President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the presidential election campaign.
King, who is an early and staunch Trump supporter, went beyond what even Trump, himself, mused about just a week ago, this time claiming that conversations that the President had from the White House after his inauguration with world leaders were wiretapped without specifying who was responsible for the alleged tapping.
“We believe that President Trump was wiretrapped, excuse me, wiretapped in his conversation with the president of Mexico, wiretapped again in his conversation with the prime minister of Australia,” King said during an interview with MSNBC.

“And we’ve got definitive stories about FISA warrants being requested,” he continued.
After making the jaw-dropping allegations, King added “Those things seem to be factual, but we actually don’t have any facts to work with on this.”
The Iowa Republican’s comments come on the heels of President Trump’s bombshell claims last week tweeting that he had just learned that President Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower prior to the election, a claim for which he presented no basis and the White House has steadfastly refused to back up with any evidence since.
The administration’s strategy on the issue has been to throw out the baseless claims and ask for Congress to investigate them, even though there is no evidence to support the claims and despite the fact that the President could summon the heads of intelligence agencies and find out if there was in fact any such wiretapping.
